Wooli Hotel Motel

The Wooli Hotel Motel focuses on providing quality family entertainment and support for community events throughout the year. Our social club events raises thousands of dollars for local charities including the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter, Grafton Base Hospital, emergency equipment for the village and many others. The Wooli community is fortunate to have a proactive community with many volunteer groups staging numerous activities.

  • January

    Hang onto your hats as their is entertainment every Sunday during this festive season.

  • April

    Easter is a big weekend for Wooli. While many visitors return to one of their favourite holiday spots so does the artistic crowd with the staging of the annual Wooli Art Prize.

  • July

    Grafton’s annual July Racing carnival attracts thousands of people to the region for the first two weeks of July. Many of these patrons who are generational return each year and have been doing so for over 100 years. Many of these race goers choose to stay at Wooli and travel in daily to the racecourse.

  • August

    Many fisherman around Australia know one thing about Wooli in August and that is the annual Snapper catch and release fishing competition. The competition is a traditional family event with hundreds of dollars in prizes.

  • September

    September is a special month not only because it is spring but because it also hosts many of the families from Camp Quality for a holiday. This event is supported by the entire Wooli Village.

  • October

    Wooli takes to the Australian stage by hosting the annual Australian Goanna Pulling Championships over the long weekend. During the day thousands flock to the seaside village to watch the competitors and go to the markets while in the night they head to the Wooli Beach Hotel Motel to watch the NRL rugby league grand final on the big screen in comfort with friends.

    The year starts winding down very fast from here on in with the staging of the annual bike ride from Ballina to Wooli and straight into Christmas ham raffles.
