Wooli Beach Hotel Motel History Photo Gallery

The Wooli Beach Hotel has had some characters come through its doors in its 30 year history.

The business operation has gone from strength to strength in line with community expectations and growth of the Wooli Village and continues to be the central social hub of the area.

Built by Sydney developers David Dobson and Dennis O’Dwyer (Tarnella Pty Ltd) in 1980 the complex was state of the art for its time with local newspaper reports calling it ‘ultra modern for the day’.

The only female publican to have managed the Wooli Beach Hotel was Rhonda Hutton who captivated everyone’s hearts and minds during her tenure.

For the past decade the owners have been Ian Rees and Emilio Liquete who have overseen the latest transformation of the Wooli Beach Hotel Motel into what is now regarded as one of the jewels of the Northern Rivers of NSW coastline.

The bistro has seen many changes and was first established by Sydney folk Jan and Graham Blair and called the ‘Solitary Anchor’ in 1981.

Now a bistro, restaurant and pizzeria the venue is now owned and operated by the owners with the head chef being one of the owners Emilio Liquete who brings a cuisine foundation established from his apprenticeship at Australia’s most famous award winning Italian Restaurante, ‘Beppis’.
